GALLOWAY, OH – Author Karen R. Sullivan introduces her debut children’s book, The Blue Wagon, a story designed to engage young readers while addressing themes of emotional development and intergenerational understanding. Targeted to readers aged 6 to 8, the picture book also appeals to adults interested in children’s emotional wellness.

The narrative follows six-year-old Heather as she searches for “treasures” to place in her blue wagon. As her collection of rocks grows heavier, so does her realization that burdens—both physical and emotional—can be difficult to carry. A chance meeting with a neighbor, Mr. Wiggledimp, and a quiet exchange with her mother serve to highlight how children and adults alike manage internal struggles.

The author, drawing on her own childhood experiences, wrote the story to contrast modern anxieties with simpler, outdoor explorations of earlier generations. Sullivan cites literary inspiration from authors such as Max Lucado, particularly for the use of metaphor and child-centered storytelling.

For the illustrations, Sullivan provided specific guidance to ensure visual alignment with the narrative. The book has received positive feedback from early readers, including children who found the story engaging and memorable.

The Blue Wagon is expected to be available soon in all e-book, paperback and hardcover formats. For more information or inquiries, please contact the author directly at [Private Email].
